Regla Maria Hernandez-Madej

   Born in Camaguey, Cuba she graduated the Sport School EIDE Cero Pelado where she was a part of Sprint Team with which she has obtained many prices at various competitions. However it was a dance that was her real passion. Her dancing journey begun in Ballet Folklorico in Camaguey, where she finished the afro-cuban dances class. In 1998 she moved to Varadero, Matanzas, where she started the career of a professional dancer in the association “Danza Cuba”. After a year she has changed the job and started cooperation with the National Association of Scenic Arts “Danza Arenas” in Varadero, where she practiced a variety of Latin American dances. She’s been performing in many shows and leading dance classes. In February 2002 in association with the Cuban Music Institute she received a certificate of specialization in Scenic Arts given by Consejo Artistico del Centro Rafael Somavilla. Since 2004 she’s been working in Consejo Provincial de las Artes Escenicas de Matanzas. Since 2009 she lives in Poland where she’s sharing her knowledge and passion to dance with Polish dancers. She had a pleasure to give workshops on various festivals such as previous edition of Festival Cubano in Bielsko-Biała, Bachaturo in Warsaw, Cuba te Baila in Berlin or Carneval de Salsa in Limoges.
